It was raining when I
arrived in Bath.
It was cold too.
I stopped at this pub
for lunch and to dry out.

The entrance to the
Roman baths.

The River Avon,
which runs through
the centre of Bath.

A building with
bullet holes left
over from WW II
when the Luftwaffe
bombed Bath in 1942.

The cathedral square.

The Roman baths were
originally a shrine of the
Celts dedicated to the
goddess Sulis.

The Romans first started
building around the springs
around the 2nd century A.D.

After the Roman withdrawal
in the first decade of the
5th century, the baths
fell into disrepair.

The buildings around
the baths today were
built in Victorian times.

A spillway on the river.

I stayed at the YMCA
and they put on a play
involving women and
water. It was part of
the Bath Arts Festival.

An "arty" photo I took
in the Star Inn.

The smallest pub in Bath.
The Coeur de Lyon.
